This body of work asks us to think about problem-solving of everyday living through aesthetic judgment. Our project thinks of aesthetics broadly as a set of personal judgments based on physical reactions (affect)/ sensibility, emotion and thoughts reflected, and consolidated, via personal history, cultural affinities, social affiliations, and affective attachment. As a preference, personal aesthetic judgment is unavailable for self-critique. People like what they like (and what they like is influenced by experience and conditions).
Aesthetic sensibilities influence our decision-making, condition our comfort levels and navigation through the world. We can think of aesthetic judgment.
This exhibition and project operates with the understanding that aesthetic judgment is common to all people. It flows between and through, politics, ideology, tribalism, desire and belonging.
